HD 6990m running 8 bit graphics what the heck.

crank up my prostar p170hm and the graphics are 8 bit at 600 x 480 resolution. I figure maybe bios corruptes so I'll run RBE and replace bios with a stable version, nope says resolution too low to run program. I have never flashed the bios on this laptop and Prostar wants 300 bucks just to tell me whats wrong with it,,, any ideas how to get this thing back on track, anything would be appreciated.

I got it figured out, afetr flashing bios twice to no avail I figured i had nothing to lose so I took a heatgun and performed a flow on card, plugged it in and the blasted thing works now, maybe for a while anyway,,,,, Thanks for the quick response. I think they have alot of problems out of these cards. Prostar wants 300 bucks just to tell you whats wrong with it and 500 bucks for a refurb video card.
