Does HDMI cable give better quality than DVI? I know DVI is better than VGA, but not sure about HDMI...

HDMI is uncompressed DVI with audio on it. DVI is digital too, so bascily what w1zzard said.

I noticed that when my roommate switched out our DVI connection on our DVD player to HDMI, the color was slightly sharper in the same movie. The blacks were blacker, if you get what I'm saying.

HDMI transfer both audio and visual at the same time now that's a nice features and it's also lighter and more convenient than DVI imo.
