Help cant OC 8800GT

hi all

i cant OC my sparkle 8800GT not even by 25mhz on the core
it just locks my PC and then the display driver reset itself

can some1 help on this

you could try the bios mod.

not to mention you dont even say what tool you used to overclock with. i used rivatuner prior to my bios mod.

ah sry i used rivatuner to and atitool to scan for yellow dots

and how can i mod my bios i dont have a floppy drive

i do it by CD.

first CD has bootable DOS, the second has the rom and flash tool.

GPUz to get the bios dump.
nibitor to edit the bios (theres an extra setting, you change that to 1.10v instead of 1.05v)

i use ultimate boot CD, choosing the topmost dos method, and on the next screen EMM386 compatibility mode

Then i swap to a CD with the modded ROM file and NVflash and flash with the following command

nvflash -4 romfile.rom

(romfile is the name you chose. keep it short, this IS dos)

the UBCD has some weird bug where it says 'end of buffer' everytime that comes up you have to hit escape to pass it - but DO NOT hit it rapidly. wait 10 seconds or so between each press, or it has a chance of freezing (did it to me, and i had to use a PCI card to flash it back to working order)

its in my system specs.

Inno3D 8800GT @ 756 core/1782 shader/ 900 ram

currently testing the ram, as it recently started crashing out in games (i'm not sure why, as the ram isnt overheating)

edit: i'd rather NOT send you the bios, as flashing someone elses bios onto your card is a bad idea. mine was a stock OC'd card, and as such may not play nicely with other brands. Its best to mod it on your own. If you want the files and the guide i wrote, PM me an email address asking for it.

sorry i actually meant the top one, it offers three DOS selections. Use the one at the top

Since i posted that i've managed to create a bootable flash drive version isntead which is a lot easier and more reliable. If you PM me an email address, i will send it to you when i can.

oke i did it but it dint help much im now stuck on 650mhz core 25mhz more then first can i add more

and i cant touch the memory clocks it wil place yellow dot on the 3d screen

yea thats right but i sold my evga 8800GTS so i could this card i really regret it now

b/c my evga would OC to 700mhz and mem to 1000mhz

so there must be a way that i can OC more the temps are oke now core idle now is 48c and loaded 67-68 tops

the only thing i could think of, is if something else is holding it back. bad power from the PSU, and so on.
