I picked up a faulty 6600gt from ebay and the box has a sticker on it saying "Failed visual check - component C75 missing".

As you can see from the picture it's a capacitor of some type and it may be the only fault with the card. I fancy my chances at successfully adding this cap if only I can find out what spec it is.

So what I need is someone with the identical card to tell me what cap is on theirs in that location.

On the sticker on the rear of the card is the ordering code "PV-T43A-UDF7 VA.3

HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP! :toast:

from the looks of things it appears to be an identical cap as the one found here as the layout of this board appears identical to yours

i would try to get the info from the other cap and get a replacement

Thanks for the offer but I'm currently happy running an X1950pro. Just want to see if I can really. Don't actually need the card - I'm planning on giving it to a friend who's MX4000 is a bit long in the tooth!

Anyway, I think as Batou1986 suggests - it's identical to the one further up the board. However unlike the ref pic mine has a solid cap up there. and looking on google images it seems that the 128mb had liquid caps whereas the 256mb had solid caps. It also seems as best as I can tell that those two caps are always the same type.

So that means I need a 330uF 16V solid cap. To be identical it also needs to be a sanyo SVP series. Which they sell @ Farnell, BUT after all this hard work - they're out of stock! :banghead:
