I just got this new card and I must say that it works wonders, especially with the AA that my Saphire 800GTO couldn't really handle. Anyhoo, when I check the specs with the ATI tool my Core reads 500 MHz and Memory 400 MHz but on the box sais taht the Memory is 780 MHz. Does this have to do with the affective memory? If so, some please explain....

Also its 512 MB DDR2 on a 128bit configuration, what exactly those this mean and how can I use it to my advantage as far as overclocking. I have tried to do a bit but I keep getting artifacts.

Cool thats what I figured....

Now can someone explain the 128 bit configuration thing? Anyone else with this card please post your overclocking specs, I want to push it as much as possible.

The 128-bit is the memory bus width, the connection width from the memory to the core. Think of it as a highway, bigger is better. X1600 series have 128-bit memory bus with internal 256-bit Ring Bus. The Ring Bus is the memory bus that resides inside the core itself, but the external connection to the memory itself is still 128-bit

Good explanation!, basically currently cards come in 128 or 256 buses, most low to mid range cards have 128, upper mid to high end cards have 256, if yours had 256 you would be paying about $75 more for it lol.

DDR stands for Double data rate so 400 becomes 800 get it
effective rate is twice that shows
