How much cash have you spent on your computer?

The only regret I have is buying some products while still new to the market. For example, my current motherboard, ASUS P5E3 Deluxe/WiFi, was $360 when I purchased it.

It can be had for about $270 now :ohwell:

£1500 over 2 years. Bear in mind I have a lot of storage and 2 large monitors. I have also had 4 processors and 6 graphics cards, 3 motherboards and 4 sets of RAM in that time.

i regret not having more money to spend on my babys, not how much ive spent so far. jesus if money was no option, id maybe spend £10k on a pc (home built of course, no alienware or nwfalcon here tyvm) and then do it again 6 months later :toast:

not building and upgrading makes me sad, on the rare time ive had to go without a pc/sell one for money problems, its like a smoking habit, i just cant stop thinking about it day and night and am looking forward to my next hit after about 2 months its not as bad, but as soon as i have the money in sight (could be weeks away) for a new build, im like a kid at xmas :eek:

No I don't regret it. Well, I regret buying that cheap RAM... but apart from this, no regrets. Also, apart from computer stuff I don't buy much of anything else.

Paying for gas twice or trice a week (round 60$ per fill up) to be able to drive to work is more :banghead:

I buy and sell parts all the time but if I were to take a semi educated guess on how much money I have spent total... It would be around, oh, say $8,500 including my two monitors, accessories, the computer it self, accumulated lost money due to devaluation for parts sold, and parts I killed for being stupid.

I fail at being cost efficient.

Replaced motherboard + RAM for $90.
Replaced Motherboard (Yep. two months later) and CPU for $120.
Replaced PSU. $35
Replaced. Video card. $40
Replaced case. $0

I myself have spent 285. But by next school year...
New monitor $160
New RAM $65
New PSU $90
Case $60
CPU ____ (Whatever is around next summer) We'll say 200
New mobo. 150ish?
New video card. 300.

About 1,460. Including what my parents paid, maybe 1,960.
Can't wait to make it happen.

I didn't but my cousin did. He bought 3 QX9650 $2700 (So much money....) and when it boots 1 is underclocked to 1.5 GHz. Second can't even OC 100 MHz. 3rd is fine. He got a replacement for one but the other one was left in the dust.

This is more like it: Quad HD8770 X4. Dual Xeon 53110 at 8 GHz with DDR7 6 GHz CL -7- -7- -7- -19- -7t (dam timings so fast!! and negative!!) combined is slower then an Intel's 8o88.

My new Rosewill mod has about $1100 in Hardware.. (lol, I paid about $320 for the 2 9600GTs 6 mos ago)

The absolutely best part is the Asus Xonar D1 sound card (PCI version). Even with Vista 64 bit it was soooo easy to set up and the sound and controls are excellent. Its a huge jump from other sound cards I have used before.
(it makes my cheapy headphones sound like they have an amp)

The one part I wish I had not done is the AMD 9950 Quad, It works but honestly there was no reason to replace my perfectly good X2 6400.
