Well I upgraded to windows 10 recently. Only drivers I downloaded for motherboard were for LAN and sound which both were for 8.1 but work nevertheless. Everything else I got from windows update. I am not sure whether and which drivers windows update got me. The motherboad has no windows 10 option at the moment: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8P67_LE/HelpDesk_Download/

I can't install win 8.1 graphic card drivers because the installer does a combability check before installing. So it won't let me.

Based on what you just stated, you have to install the windows 10 version of the patched video driver, re-run the Install.cmd and capture the output with this command typed from a command prompt:

Install.cmd > out.txt

Post the text here, I suspect it's listing a error that's being missed.

How can I run it in command prompt as adminstrator? It will give the error "Please run this as adminstrator" in the out.txt file otherwise. Before I just right clicked on install.cmd>run as adminstrator with the cmd open.

To open a administrator command prompt right-click anywhere in the open folder (no files selected) while holding down left-shift, and select "open command window here".

Yeah, I did that and it gives the error "You must run this in adminstrator" in the out.txt file.

I can right-click and "run as adminstrator" and it will do its thing but the shift-right click cmd will just type that in the text file.

EDIT: Got it to work with "file>open command prompt>open command prompt as adminstrator while having the right folder opened.

here is the output:

Unpack the included 2nd rar file into your tools folder in the main differentsliauto folder, read the readme and follow what it says, I think the driver isn't being properly signed.
Also turn off uac.:

  1. Open User Account Control Settings by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type uac, and then click Change User Account Control settings.
  2. Do one of the following: To turn off UAC, move the slider to the Never notify position, and then click OK.

I unpacked the 2nd rar again. UAC was turned off. I followed the readme (I did the whole removing certs thing). I deleted the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities > DifferentSli" but there wasn't any seperate folder for DifferentSLI. I went through all folder just in case. Did the whole reinstalling of the drivers and install.cmd thing again. Rebooted and still the same case.

Edit:Might have found something tho. Ima check (nvm)

Edit2:
Okay now its just really weird. First off. For some reason I had the wrong nvlddmkm.sys file in the differentSLIauto folder. I fixed that and did the whole cycle again but it will just break the graphics driver (screen in wrong reso, control panel not working). Also It makes reinstalling the nvidia driver really messy. Not sure if there is a right way to do it. Anyways the install gives errors and uninstalling the drivers myself first fixes some and then I must uninstall them some more and then magically the driver installs itself after restart (only task manager shows the process) and without the software (maybe its windows update, idk). Anyways really messed up now.

Also does it matter whether I use differentSLIAuto1.3 or differentSLIAuto1.3.1?

Edit3: Probably windows update messing up my stuff, so I turned that off for drivers
Edit4: Just clearing up some things. Using differentSLIAuto 1.3.
1) I install the Nvidia graphics driver with all the software.
2) Using Using differentSLIAuto 1.3 (pasted the nvlddmjkm.sys from the folder you provided, and pasted the cert_tools to the tools folder)
3) Changed nvlddmkm.sys in the system32/drivers folder to .old
4) running install.cmd as adminstrator
5) rebooting
6) After booting to desktop the driver isn't working (wrong reso, control panel not opening up, tho appearing in task manager).
7) I reinstall the nvidia drivers to get things working again.

So finaly ordered a new sli bridge, no chance finding the old one ...

After trying out some things, now both cards run in hardwaremanager, and also appear in the nvidia driver menu. But still don't get the sli option.. I wonder if I can do anything to make it work, or just give you some more information to you that you could know why its not showing the option..

Doesn't sli work normaly even without a bridge on top? I recently read that it just makes sli faster..

To SooFar:

I've heard that some later motherboards can do sli mode without a sli bridge, but most do require a bridge to be installed, just wait until you get your bridge and then try the installation
again.

Tp Princeps:

I'd get the latest version (1.31) of differentsliauto, the installation folder for differentsliauto can by anything you want to name it. The only error I saw in the Install.cmd output was that it failed to process the
nvlddmkm.sys file, there are usually 1 of 2 reasons for this:

1. The Install.cmd can't sign the driver (that's why I mentioned the 2nd rar file).
2. The file can't be copied over (This is mainly a problem on windows 10, that's why I mentioned the rename, and/or uac is stopping it).

There is another possibility that your anti-virus is interfering, try pausing that while your running the Install.cmd.

It might be a signing problem yeah. I have only windows defender as a antivirus at the moment (firewall doesnt matter, right?). Turned that off, but it will turn back on after restart, so idk about that.

I made a new out.txt file tho

This actually after running install.cmd the second time, so its not the freshest after installing nvidia drivers but I haven't restarted yet. The outcome seems the same (I didn't delete nvlddmkm.sys before running it the second time).

Also I am deleting the differentsli certificate but there isn't any folders for differentsli in the cerfificates. Only 1 cerfticate (Trusted Root Certification Authorities > DifferentSli), no folder.

After deleting I have to save the console1.mmc and thats it right?

Edit: Wait, I do see the folder. Im blind or going crazy. Ima try deleting that too.

I guess I got some improvement. When I was deleting certificates I should have selected certificates- current user, not for computer account because when selecting current user it gives "differentsli" folder with the certificates which I then deleted, also with the one in "trusted root certification authorities". Computer booted nicely with the driver working but trying to enable SLI ended crashing the control panel again. I'll do a fresh run with and give you the out.txt again.

Edit: So reinstalled nvidia drivers, rebooted, changed nvlddmkm.sys to old, deleted certificates from the differentSLI folder and trusted root cerfitication authorities, ran install.cmd>out.txt in adminstrator and here is the output:
root "Trusted Root Certification Authorities"
CertUtil: -store command FAILED: 0x80090011 (-2146893807 NTE_NOT_FOUND)

Boots nicely but control panel crashes after applying SLI. Do you think swapping the video boards would help? One is ASUS gtx 560ti, other one is MSI gtx 560Ti.

Device manager goes like this:

also 2nd screen stops working and trying to open control panel says:

If matters then the board that has ! is the the one in slot 1 (upper on) and has the cables. I also had this a month before getting the second one from a friend.

Ill swap the cards and see what happens.

Something is still interfering with the driver, check your bios settings that are related to video and make sure you don't have to change anything there.

Thank you so much for your help dude. I think swapping the cards might have done the trick.

I'm not sure but I think the other way around (before swapping) I tried to use cables on the 2nd card and it didn't bring up a picture but this way around both cards made a picture appear.

So. Today I installed the Sli bridge, and uninstalled the driver.

-I installed the newest driver with Geforce Experience , rebooted
-copied the nvlddmkm.sys into the extractet Differentsliauto 1.3.1 folder on my desktop
-run DifferentSLIAuto.exe as administrator
-run Install.cmd as administrator and rebootet

problem now is, that nothing changed.. hope the image is usefull to you even if it is in german...

As far as I can tell, the patched driver was signed ok, but it wasen't copied over, if your running windows 10, go to "c:\windows\system32\drivers" and rename "nvlddmkm.sys" to "nvlddmkm.old" and run
the Install.cmd again.

I tried like you said, nothing changed..
Then I tried manually copy and paste the patched "nvlddmkm.sys" to "c:\windows\system32\drivers" rebootet, and it showed me the SLI option. I tried to enable it, then the driver crashed...

Have you installed your sli bridge? You can also check event viewer for any errors, if the driver is being signed properly, and it's being copied over, it should be working, another user was having
similar issues and he simply swapped his video boards around and things started working for him.

Sli bridge is connectet to both cards, the driver is working fine until i try to apply "maximize 3d performanze", then it crashes, and i have to reinstall the driver, because it is not working anymore.

I can't switch the cards around, because if i do, i can't connect my sata ports anymore..

If your motherboard has a built-in gpu, go to your bios and disable that and make sure your other video boards are set as the primary display device, and that the device manager lists both video boards and that
there are no "X" or "!" displayed next to the device entries.

The device manager says everything is fine (no x or !) both cards are running currently perfekt, got one monitor in the 760, and another monitor in the 660.
Checked bios, and there is nothing i could disable.
Nothing is connected to the hdmi port of the mainboard. Its the "MSI Z77A-G41"
