if you want to play online. Do this. It works.
Razor kinda royally ~censored~ their crack for MP by disabling online play alltogether
because they couldn't figure out how to properly crack it without that. Anyways,
at the moment until a clone comes out (probably around Tuesday), we'll have to live
with this method.

WHAT YOU NEED:
- Full game (Get Razor1911 rls from wherever you DL ~love~)
- Demo EXE

If you don't have the demo exe, get it here: http://tinyurl.com/yecd7h

WHAT TO DO:
Install the full game as normal using the Razor release. Then download the demo exe
and save it in your full game install folder (so in addition to copying the 1911 crack
just copy the demo exe there). Then, run the demo exe! Login as normal, just like you
would for the demo, but in addition to the normal demo servers in the game server list,
you should see a few extras. For instance:

"#Battlefield2142 EFNET!"

Note that this server won't be running Sidi Power Plant Wink
If you're having problems finding the server just sort by map and it'll show up at the
top of the list.

Weapons are still locked, but this server is running the full game (all maps, etc.).
As soon as we figure out how to unlock weapons we will.

MAPS:
verdun
tunis_harbor
suez_canal
sidi_power_plant
shuhia_taiba
minsk
fall_of_berlin
cerbere_landing
camp_gibraltar
belgrade

This is the server ip if you cant see it. 69.88.152.88

What??!! You can play online with that "free" version??

Not on ranked servers I suppose :(

I leave for L.A. in two days, and will get the retail version once I get there, but won't be able to use it until I'm back here in El Salvador, that'll take a couple of weeks sadly (My laptop is only good for watching DVD movies and surfing the net  ) I'll be drooling at the game box all that time, and I could have downloaded the same "free" version you have for having a bit of fun these last days :(

Well, it's only a matter of time now....

15th Warlock, you're just like me. For some reason, a lot of the games that I get, I get in California (most of my family is there, so I go there a lot), and all I can do is stare at the box on the drive back to Arizona. Damn I hate it, and thinking about it on the drive back makes it go much slower.

LOL! yes I now exactly how you feel, for me it was the same with BF2, and Oblivion after that, I had to stay for almost one month in the US when I got those games, and by the time I got home I had read the manual like 10 times :p

Man, wouldn't you love to get one of those top of the line Alienware laptops and be able to play your PC games on the go, wouldn't that be awesome? :D

It just feels so clumsy, the interface is poor and confusing, and there's far too much going on at once, 90% of it unnecessary.

The general physics wind me up too, but thats been since BF2.

You start off with 4 classes to choose from, and have to go up in rank to use new weapons and even things you'd take for granted, like the revive pack and grenades.

I'm probably heavily bias since I didnt like BF2, but it all just feels so disorganized and skilless.

This is only in SP of course, hopefully online it has some teamplay, but the AI offline is absolutely terrible. Worse than BF2 somehow. One of my guys started firing at a wall for a good 3 clips because one of the opponents had somehow gotten himself trapped on rubble on the other side.

mmm,i see your points.i'm hooping its better online.

i'd like to know were the full copy appeared from.some dodgy ea guy or wot.i bet ea would be pissed if they knew(if they dont already).someone would get a right arse kicking from ea for letting it out.

the ai is really shit tho',but who plays single player bf2 anyway(fools with no connection i guess).

i played the beta online and it does seem better with a real brain behind the gun.

Oo, one more thing that would me up (cause I'm a whiney bast :p).
They bothered to add widescreen, which is yay, but it's only in 1440x900 or so, which is boo >:|

yer like why add 1280x960,that bugs me soooo much,i had to hack it for 1280x1024.its ok if you have a widescreen monitor,if not its horrible on a 4:3 monitor.

you'd need some card for 1440x900 wunt ya?

I dunno, most of the time I'm sure I get over 35 frames (I mean, I get no stutter at all) but in really intense firefights (like when using a walker and shooting all my rockets and using my machine guns against another walker until it blows up :p) framerate gets a hit, maybe hitting the lower 20s, haven't checked that yet, but it's not too distracting.

BF 2142 has been ordered from Amazon UK and should be dispatched on 20th October (when it's released here in England). When a few people get it we'll have to meet up on a server...

Well we have a BF2 crew - anyone who wants to join take a look at my sig. The downside is that we are all over the world so it can be hard to find good servers for those of us in Europe and the US at the same time. Anyway, I'm up for a 2142 crew.
