what do you mean " is very bad but I'm looking for other things I can do so it operates very quickly". What are you doing on the computer when it feels like it is "very bad"? If you are talking about the computers gaming performance, I'd say your problem is not with your CPU (people are building decent gaming computers using a pentium CPU's which is slower than your i3). Your video card is very old. Equal in in performance to AMD's top card 4 GENERATIONS AGO. To give you an idea of just how slow your 6870 is compared to current cards, look at this-

There is nothing to unlock on the 6870. You have full access to its 6 year old glory as I can attest as I have two of them. Your only option to improve the 6870 is to overclock it or to crossfire it. Both of my 6870s could handle 1Ghz from 900 and 920Mhz stock after pumping a good bit of voltage through it but, that's about the most you'll be able to do. North of 1Ghz on the core is possible with water cooler and a modified BIOS that pumps north of 1.3v through it but, that's a lot of work for an old GPU.

No, it would have to be another 6870 and I don't think that the 4x PCI-E lane on your motherboard would be conducive to such a setup. You would be better off getting a new GPU as I just did.

6870 is positively ancient above 720P its going to be dog slow
the bottom line here is that if you are interested in gaming on it you need to replace the gpu and cpu the cpu is less of a issue then the gpu atm tho

It does okay at 1080p in CFX when you don't run out of VRAM or if you're running an old game.

maby if you can get the core over 1000 ... not many cards did that
eh not really mine hit the wall at about 900p on medium with battfield 4 anything above that and the frame-rate tanked
either way old system is old don't expect miracles

my secondary system is a 3.4GHz i5 with 6870 crossfire, i can back up the other people that the performance of those cards is just fine as long as you keep VRAM usage under 1GB.

OP's i3 is not that bad, the hyper threading will help out a decent amount for games that need more than 2 threads.

correction, old video card is old. Nothing wrong with a Sandy Bridge i3 when compared to a Haswell i3.
