I want to buy a lga 1150 motherboard but

it has to be new. Empower laptop- has a great selection but (I think) they`re all refurbished. Amazon are just about useless. ebay is OK but you don`t get much change out of £80.I want a board that overclocks , uses ddr3 ,has crossfire and preferably z87 or z97.

i`ve thought abut the pc mate and decided against it. you can get it cheaper elsewhere. That sort of thing tho. Can`t believe there isn`t a decent shop for this anywhere !

What CPU are you putting into it? That platform is 4 years old, so they aren't making them anymore... that I know of. So you probably have no choice but used through fleabay or Amaxon.

I've liked my MSI Z97 U3 Plus... been rock solid and OCing is pretty easy. That said, with the exception of bricking the board during a BIOS flash using their "M-Flash". I subsequently recovered it with some help of members here and Flashcat EEPROM programmer. Gigabyte would be my choice too, but I won that board here on TPU :lovetpu:

For a Z97 board I must admit I've not had that many but I would consider an ASrock OCF board first myself.. Might be rather hard to buy now but what would hold you back from getting a newer motherboard?

I love my extreme 4. Really good overclocking it got my old Pentium up to 4.9 GHz .

Unless you're looking for really in-depth overclocking control, I know for a fact that the H-97 series from asrock has limited overclocking ability

You'd probably have better luck searching in UK buy/sell/trade forum here on tpu

Might be easier to go to coffee lake or Ryzen and sell the rest of your system off, getting brand new boards for haswell/devils canyon is like finding a needle in a haystack.
