Ipod won't sync with Itunes.

I need help..My ipod touch wont sync to my itunes!!! I cant transfer my music to my ipod :cussing: I have vista 64

Didn't you ever see those Mac / PC commercials. Don't you realize that cool hipsters just don't communicate well with nerdy guys with glasses and brown suits? Seriously though, I think you need (God-forbid) iTunes installed on your PC.

Is it set to automatiacally sync? How old is it? Is it empty? Is this the first machine you have used it on? Is your itunes and iphone software up to date? Lets start there.

Here's what i did.. Installed all my songs from windows xp to my ipod. Then, i moved all of my songs to the vista machine. Now,everytime i put a new song to my itunes in vista machine the i pod wont copy/sync.

Does the ipod show up at all in itunes? Where are you getting the new songs, directly from itunes? Do the songs play on your computer? Sorry for all the questions but it could be a lot of things. I actually haven't used the touch, but I would imagine it has a restore function on it. If you have everything you need on your computer, you can try restoring the ipod (which will erase everything) and start from scratch. Sometimes corrupted song files on an ipod or itunes can cause the two to become out of sync.

slade you have to reinstall the original list to add others with a new OS write!

there is a possibility that it will be wiped if it does add a new song!

Also a Vista with intel chipset mobo a USB - .inf files chipset upgrade is supposed to solve the issue. avail on Vista site.

And personally, I always go for the manual sync. As soon as you first connect the ipod to the comp, uncheck the box that says automatically sync ipod to itunes. This way you don't have to worry about your stuff getting wiped when you wanna get stuff from someone else's pc. Also, it tends to lead to less sync problems since everything is manual. Also, do you know about sharepod? You could try using that, it can copy files onto your pod, but it works better the other way around.

uninstall the itunes.....copy the songlist as it was a zip drive to a folder on Desktop.
no itunes, cus it will auto recognize as Ipod...intead of a drive letter.

After the music is over in folder>>> install Itunes>>>transfer music from folder to Itunes.

Then add songs and sync!!!!

cool, i will try that but what do you guys suggest? I copied all the songs to a CD. should i erase my ipod and download all the songs again from scratch??

If you have all the songs on a CD then that will do. Try what sneekypeet said first, then if that doesn't work go into itunes and select your ipod. you will see a button called restore. Click on it and it will reformat the ipod. At this point take my selected steps. Also, download this:

No problem hope it works out for you. I got to have my pod working at all times, more than my cpu even. Make sure you read that whole page on sharepod, it will be very benificial. Don't use it and itunes at the same time. Also, I hope it supports touch but to be honest I am not completely sure. I won't hurt to try though.

Well, like I have said I haven't gotten to play with the touchs, but when you are initially setting up the pod there should be an option automatically checked that says automatically sync with itunes. Uncheck this. If you don't go through set-up again, there should be another option when you click on the ipod in itunes that says manually manage music and videos. Check this and you will be good to go.

Here!!! download winamp, install and use that to put music on it. i dont use itunes at all and it works flawless.

And it doesn't sync, which is the issue. Playback works fine with his iTunes as well.

I had problems with itunes under 64bit vista ultimate try this place http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.cfm and dl the drivers got everything working for me
