I installed the 64 bit on the new system I had built when Vista came out. Booted up an had the occasional bsod for a day or two until it crashed and corrupted my hd.....went back to xp until 7 .

Have Windows Vista Eternity 2009 by Benjamin(Rockers International Team) on the ASUS laptop.
The stock Vista sucked, but this has been rocking for years without a single hiccup.
I even have it on HDD to boot to and use sometimes on my current PC.
They fixed LOT of crap that was wrong with it before :toast:

I used Vista for 8 years up until July last year when I built my current setup. It worked fine for me, so I saw no reason to change anything

MS finally finished programming Vista. We call it patching these days but yeah, MS did complete Vista after tens of millions of beta testers that paid full price gave feedback.

You are pretty much right anyway; for the first five years it wasn't actually "my" computer, it was used by everyone in my family. Back then I barely used it anyway. Then three years ago everyone else got laptops so I took it over. Then about two years ago was the first that the extreme slowness of it started to bother me, but by then I was already planning my current PC, so it wasn't worth buying a new OS or something

If anything i was really happy that Microsoft had a strong driving foundation for x64. Because I saw nothing but lackluster experiences with XP x64.

No hate for Vita, either, except for hours of HDD grinding when installed afresh.

Windows ME, however, I truly, sincerely, loathed it. It was BSOD king.

Only problem i found with vista was performance. If your running a family dollar pc with less than 2 gigs of ram vista was a nightmare. Alot of xp-ers who tried to upgraded on 512 and 1 gig old xp machines running at 1. whatever gigahertz. were stuck in slow mo land. To The enthusiasts it was a matter of taste.

I tried Vista but too many peripherals didn't have drivers then so I stuck with XP. Best Thing about Vista is all the drivers work in Win7 so I can still use my 9 year old Dell Dimension to run 3Dmark Firestrike.
