My computer freezes after 5 mins and sometimes get a BSOD,

ive checked windows event log viewer and disk bad block comes up many times over in a matter of seconds.

Also ive ran chkdsk and it locks at 59%, the computer freezes solid. if I reset the computer the disk light stays on and the post screen won't read the disk,
But if I turn the computer off and turn it back on the computer boots as normal.

ive had to type this out really quick before it cra.........

Check the disk smart data with a bootable disk, if anything comes up red, RMA it.

Make a disc-image, secure-erase using OCZ Toolbox, restore that image. If you can't even make an image, then salvage whatever files you can, secure-erase using OCZ Toolbox, and reinstall everything.

Also, throw a new sata cable on. Sometimes cables go bad... Lastly, those Vertex2's suck. I had one go bad too. I Rma'd and OCZ sent a new one

Ive managed to sort it out using the 1st two replies,

using secure erase, i was never able to create an image of my C: drive, so ive had to do a complete windows re-install.
Also speaking of the bios, it would never boot from the windows CD-ROM in the drive after the post screen despite the fact i changed the drive boot priority settings in the bios, its like it never saved my settings.
so i had to rip the Windows disc into an ISO file then put it onto a USB pendrive to get it to install.

Anyhow thanks for the help and info guys.

I was gonna get a Samsung or Intel if this one went bad. i was already pricing one up. lol

im hoping my system holds out until skylake arrives, im willing to fork out for a new graphics card but thats it between now and then.
