Is there a way to have more stata ports?

Is there a way to add more stat ports than there are on a mobo? I've been considering a 750i over a 680i T1 but the big problem is that the 750i has only 4 sata ports while the 680i t1 has 6. I'm using 5 sata ports now. So before i go through with buying a 750i i wanted to know if that was an option?

EDIT: I know i spelled sata wrong in the title.

you can buy sata raid cards, you can get simple ones with 4 ports for under 100 bucks. Its not gonna be good at RAID, but if your not using raid the cards will work perfect.

I have two of the Koutech IO-PSA420 32-bit cards, they work great!

I'm curious, this might help me out. How does it plug in to the mobo? Is there any performance difference between plugging it into the card and plugging a sata into the mobo?

EDIT: is there a difference between the 64 and 32 bit versions?

They install into a PCI slot. It should be no different from plugging a hard drive directly into a SATA port on the motherboard.

Im not to sure, I use a 32bit card on both 32 and 64 bit OS'. I do not know if that will work with the 64bit card.

I just use one now for more ports, and the speeds are no different then hooking it in the mobo.

It uses a PCI slot. The regular white ones

I think i'll go with the 32 bit, and hook up my cd's drives and such to it, and save my hdd's for the mobo, this way i still haver room for expansion. I just wish evga added 6 sata's instead of 4.

I found sata dvd-rw didn`t work with one tho` hdd`s were great.

What about an ASUS drives, i have one DVD drive and one DVD RW+/- etic multi drive. Anyone have any ideas.
