is this a good laptop to play the sims 3?

so right now i have a macbook air from 2015 to play the sims 3 and do other things but it’s just not cutting it for me anymore i need a new laptop and i found this one i just don’t know if it’s good for the sims 3 ( i have base game, all expansions, and only a few stuff packs ) would this laptop run good? would it take up all of my storage?

yes that will run the sims 3 game. I would put all of the games on the hard drive and not the 128GB NVME drive.

A good rule of thumb for Laptops is

1: how much did I pay for my last one
2: and was it a good experience

1: spend the same amount most probably get a better equipped Laptop
2: if the answer is yes then see #1 if the answer is no then you need spend more

also that's a pretty cheapo laptop from HP so not guaranteed to be a good experience out of the box with all their bloatware

128g would be pretty small for a ssd, I would recommend getting one with a bigger ssd

I'd say it was ok for no discrete GPU and for the money saved you could plop in another 8GB of DDR4 3200 and run in dual channel configuration instead of single channel

About the HP, yeah it probably has bloatware and the SSD is minimal, but those things can be fixed.
The display however is really bad, low resolution, low brightness, AND a touch screen which means that you'll get a glossy screen that'll reflect a lot of the surrounding light. A glossy, dim, low resolution TN display looks really bad, I can't stress this enough.
Nobody buys a budget laptop just to replace the display afterwards.

The Dell has a faster CPU, larger SSD, and a higher resolution display that probably looks better since it's brighter and is a wide viewing angle variant.
