The 350 is quite restrictive if he's hoping to expand later on, so the GTZ would be a better deal,

and if it ever comes in stock he can always grab the LT version (which has the same base as the CU) of the Heatkiller which is the same price as a GTZ (65) from sidewinder 59.99 (the am2->775 enzotech bracket is only 5bucks) =65

better yet if he gets the HK3.0 LC from perf pcs, it's only 55 w/ the adapter and still better than GTZ

He's using AM2 so he won't need a 775 backplate w/ that adapter.

If he's going low rpm on the fans he's better off saving 1/2 the costs and using the swiftech rad since they're only 1-2C apart in the 500-1200rpm range Yate Loons

Not trying to rip, but if you recommend him to go w/ a XSPC or GTX rad, and deal w/ the costs of going higher w/ a rad... I'm sure he can do the same for a cpu block imho.

how's he supposed to mount a Heatkiller in an AMD rig when the only options available are 775 and 1366 in the states?

I've used an enzotech block before, and they have a mount adapter that basically converts the am2 to lga775 hole spacing:

You just have to make sure the screw set that comes w/ it is tight enough, but I have used it w/ certain lga775 blocks and works fine.

Also sidewindow does have AM2 Heatkiller... go take a look yourself:

if the block is not getting enough pressure from the screw set w/ the enzotech (because the screws bottom out) I just add washers

And then the fear of leaks, the minutes of uncertainty, and the awesome relieve when the loop is leak proof:)

The best above all is to look at what you have done and can say "I did this myself".

Lol yeah my boss asked me today how my water cooling goes along, I said I'll expand the loop. He was like "Yeah, till it leaks and your PC is fucked. But it sure rocks to have water cooling, doesn't it? *has shiny glow in eyes*" Another collegue was first thinking I made a joke when I said I ordered some water cooling parts for the PC. He didn't believe this was possible until I showed him some pictures.
