Hi guys.......
my system configuration is
PENTIUM D 2.66GHZS (DUAL CORE)
4GB(2 X 2) DDR2 800 TRANSCEND RAM
GIGABYTE G31M-S2L MOTHERBOARD
SPARKLE NVIDIA 1GB 9500GT(HYNIX MEMORY MODULE USED) GFX CARD
500GB + 160GB SATA HDD
400W IBALL PSU

some of my friends said that gigabyte G31 motherboard is good for overclocking.....i checked out it in gigabyte website it was the same so i overclocked my processor & gfx card using a EASY TUNE 5 utility provided in the gigbyte motherboard cd

default - overclocked

processor - 2.66ghz - 3.00ghz

gfx card - core clk - 550mhz - 600mhzs

mem clk - 400mhzs(800bit rate) - 450mhzs(800bit rate)

some of them say that overclocking means reducing 50% life span is it true.........
i am using a "coolermax" fan for my processor and 3 cabin fans for ventilation

After overclocking my pc it gives me good gaming performance. i can change to any resolution during game playback the game plays smoothly
some of the games i played are
HALF LIFE
NFS UNDERCOVER
NFS PROSTREET
MEDAL OF HONOR AIRBORNE

DOES OVERCLOCKING AFFECTS OR DAMAGES MY PROCESSOR & GFX CARD............ ]:)

If you don't use insane voltage or get high temperatures, there is no harm in overclocking ;)

Lifespan gets shortened, yes, but not by 50%. Especially as Haunted pointed out; your oc will not heavily affect the lifespan if you don't run high voltages. and/or have insufficent cooling.

Go for the highest OC with out upping your volts. I find the max stable with stock volts and then maybe take it up a tick. I'm running a 4600+ at 3.3ghz 24/7 my temps are never over 48c on full load. As far as your gfx card those are fun to OC. I have my OC'd from stock 650mhz to 745mhz. memory at 938mhz. As long as you monitor your temps and keep your voltage as low as possible you can achieve some nice performance gains.

Re thanks

Thanks for your replies.......
WITH sparkle 9500gt GFX card i can play smoothly undercover at maximum resolution, car detail, smoke on and vise versa.....but while playing Nfs prostreet there is no smoothness playback as undercover, why it is because of game drawback or my GFX card drawback some of my friends use same gfx card they dont have this problem,i think the problem is my ram or my processor :)

The memory module used in my Gfx card is "HYNIX"
But my ram is trancend

OR

my processor is Pentium D(2 X P4 CORES)

PLEASE SUGGEST A SOLUTION FOR THIS :toast::toast:
