The ultrabook supporters club has grown some more recently as LG Electronics decided to adopt this form factor and release the Xnote Z330, an Intel-based mobile PC that weights just 1.21kg and is 14.7mm thick.

    LG's first ultrabook comes with a 13.3-inch (1366 x 768) LED-backlit display boasting a super-thin bezel (8mm), is powered by a Core i5-2467M (1.6 GHz) or Core i7-2637M (1.7 GHz) processor, and can boot up in 9.9 seconds.

The Z330 also packs 4GB of RAM, Intel HD Graphics 3000, a 120GB (SATA 3.0 Gbps) or 256GB (SATA 6.0 Gbps) solid state drive, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, Intel WiDi (Wireless Display) support, USB 3.0, a microSD card reader, and is pre-loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

For starters the Xnote Z330 has been launched in South Korea, its pricing there going from 1.7 million won (~ US $1,5010) to 2.6 million won (~ US $2,309).

Sort of look like Macbook Airs.

What material is the shell made from?
    Brushed aluminum?

Expensive as hell, hopefully in the US and Canada the pricing is at least comparable to the competitors

Wish it had a real graphics card. Not an ultrabook on an IGP IMO.
    NC37 says thanks.

yep, Kinda does look a little unatural - the colours are way too vibrant for any LCD/TFT screen to repoduce.

I understand you can have ultra sharp panels but when something is that vibrant, it just doesnt seem to fit with the laptop

Exactly what I thought. Ultra denotes something really good. Intel graphics = future coaster.

I think SONY does an ultra thin Z-series i3/i5 laptop with a dedicated AMD graphics. Ludicrously expensive. Saw it in the shop and was like WTF - not paying over £2000 for that!!

It looks nice though, so nice that the staff had either superglued or bolted the laptop down to the desk to stop people running away with it.

They have gotten a lot better in Intel's defense, but ultrabook they are not.

Depends on the model $900 for the base model with a 2.4ghz i5 and 6630

SONY VAIO SA Series VPCSA3AFX/BI Notebook Intel Co...

Asus has one but its only got the GT520, but its $735 so a smidge cheaper.

    ASUS U31SD-DH31 Notebook Intel Core i3 2330M(2.20G...

Rather nasty "brick-look-wallpaper" in that high-rise concrete office. What odd interior decoration.

Er, is that second photo supposed to be geek-kinky or something? o_O

Current pricing of Sony Z series laptops in the UK.

I saw the Asus one too. IMO i quite prefer the Asus one over the Sony. I cant remember which model had the brushed steel/aluminum look - the Asus laptop is about £800 here if i remember correctly.

^ "starting from..." looks expensive but OK, since this is a top model. But when you configure it and it spits our 2699.00, well, that is more than just a little pricey!
