Mafia 2 Help.

Alright so i got mafia 2, looks like a great game but of course i can't play it......(ITS A STEAM GAME) firstly i don't like steam. Anyways right now i have dial up and its obviously slow, before i can play mafia 2 it wants me to update it so i let the update go over night, its a pretty small update so i thought it would be finished but for some reason it isn't updating well on steam so is there anyway for me to update the game without steam and play it?

Can't you just right click the game and go to Properties->Updates and disable them?

Also, can't you put Steam in offline mode?

If you bought it/go it through steam it has to be updated through steam.

every time i try to put it in offline mode steam says "this game is not ready to be played in offline mode".............i bought it from a store not from steam

i put steam to do not automatically update games but it still won't launch because the update must be finished i suppose is there anyway at all i can get this to work?

it didn't work it says : Registry entry not found! Mafia is not installed. Cannot apply Patch!...................any ideas? Figures that patch is for mafia not mafia 2

Have you tried manually patching them?

LOL it seems only Skidrow torrents can let you have the manual patch installers lol

Since your copy's legit you'd just need to get the installers themselves and not the crack...

try this blackjack, get a external something jump drive, harddrive or anything, take the whole mafia 2 folder out of steam, put it on the jump drive, go into steam right click on mafia 2 delete it, then close steam, drop the mafia folder back into the proper steam folder, start up steam in offline mode then go to mafia 2, right click and disable updates, exit steam again, open it back up in normal mode, now the game will go threw a thing where it validates the files but doesnt patch them, after this you should be able to play without the patch
