Hello,
Im building a computer which is going to be soley for gaming. I got all the parts except for the memory. I got a few questions on the memory. What is the difference between PC-4000 DDR 500 and PC-3200 DDR 400? Which one is better for gaming?

I am going to go with a 2GB setup (2x1024MB) and narrowed the choices down to two...the OCZ EB DDR PC-4000 1024MB Platinum Edition Dual channel (DDR 500 with timings of 3-3-2-8) and OCZ DDR PC-3200 2GB Platinum Edition Dual Channel (DDR 400 with timings of 2-3-2-5). Which one of these two would give the best performance in games..The PC-4000 DDR 500 with loose timngs or the PC-3200 DDR 400 with tighter timings?

Thank you for your help...these are the parts I allready have:
AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego
DFI LanParty SLI-DR
EVGA e-geforce 7800GTX KO
Western Digital Raptor 74GB Serial ATA150
PC Power And Cooling Turbo-Cool 510 Express/SLI

Do this, go to the website for the memory you want and look for the configeration area.
This will tell you exactly which chips you need on the PCB's for the best performance.
This will eleminate all compatability problems that might arise.

IMO What you need is some OCZ Gold PC4000 VX Memory.
With a board like that you want the best and for me that stuff is the top.
The bh-5 chips love the increased voltage and the OCZ 3.5V lifetime warrenty is very handy!!:D
You can see I've managed some serious overclocking with the tightest timings using the same chipset. :rockout:
The stuff just flies!!!

I used to have a DFI board, and was quite active on DFIStreet forum.
A lot of persons in that forum are running the Patriot XBLK memory.
This memory has TCCD chips on BrainPower PCB's. Runs best at 2.7v, so no need for a volt booster.
I still run this memory in my AV8 and it is super. 2,2,2,5,1T
NewEgg is the largest vender of Patriot memory in the USA as far as I can tell.
Patriot memory is at least 30% less $ than OCZ, Corsair, Kingston etc.
Super memory and is completely compatable in the Abit AV8, as well as the DFI nF3 & 4 Ultra boards.
