I am trying to clone my excisting 256gb ssd to my new 480gb and when I go through the process it clones fine but reduces the size of my new ssd to 256. I think I am overlooking something so any help would be appreciated.

I am using Macrium Reflect free version on a windows 10 64bit system

Windows 10 can shrink / extend its own OS partition size without having to use a third party tool.

1/ hit the keys combo WIN +R and type diskmgmt.msc

2/ right click on your OS partition to either shrink / extend your partition size

Of course you will use your free unallocated space to extend your 256Gb up to 480Gb

Wherever help is needed!
Hey there, @Rapidfire48

@blobster21 is right!
Such issues can easily be resolved through Disk Management after the clone is completed.
Some third-party cloning tools definitely give such minor heart attacks :D
You can either extend the partition or format the rest of the SSD's unallocated space into a new Simple Volume (another partition).
Basically, whatever suits you best.

Good luck! :)

Use a better cloning tool and you don't have that issue. Acronis/ghost will let you clone as full drive to full drive.
