Right now a system I'm working on has 512mbs of RAM (2x256mb) in dual channel.

I have a 2gb (2x1gb) dual channel set of ram coming in the mail.

is it possible to add the 2gbs with the 512mbs of ram while still keeping the RAM in dual channel? Or should I just remove the 256mb sticks?

It will run as long as the bios is set to the worst set of ram, but seriously the heat and stress to the NB isnt really worth 512mb of extra ram in my opinion. I would just use the new 2X1GB kit.

I wouldn't... Just use the 2GB you have on the way. Its not a good idea to run different memory

u should be fine, just relax the ram timings leave the memory at stock speeds, if u still get stability issues raise vdimm voltage up a notch, also set your memory two 2t, 1t on most 939 socket motherboards with 4 ram slots used don't work to well, but by doing this u lose 5 to 15%, of memory speeds
