Monitor looses signal for about 1second after windows logo

Hi all,

Just put together a new computer here (in sig).

The issue: monitor looses signal for about 1second after windows logo. It searches for digital and analog and settles with diginal and computer boots fine. When I first installed windows and gpu driver this problem didn't happen.

I just notice the problem after adding a HD (but removing it didn't solve it). Also there's an instance where I plugged monitor cable into the on board gpu port thinking it's the card. The problem might have occurred after that but I'm not entirely sure.

Any input would be appreciated

My HDTV does that all the time and been nothing to worry about, how ever with a computer monitor the monitor it self might have a option to manually pick analog or digital by default.

That's normal. Not only is the monitor testing its inputs looking for a digital or analog signal, but it is trying to determine what resolution it should settle on too.

At the same time, the BIOS is tossing out its standard low resolution but then the boot process hits the boot disk where Windows then tosses out its standard default video signals. Then your graphics card drivers are loaded and suddenly your monitor is hit with another and hopefully final digital signal and resolution.

So there is a lot of handshaking going on. As long as it settles on the right one once Windows fully boots, you are good to go.
