I have been recently looking at buying a new monitor. Right now I play with a 20" Acer X203w @1680x1050.... But the max refresh rate is only 60hz. So I was looking at possibly buying a 22" @ 1900x1080 with at min a refresh rate of 85Hz but preferably (if I can afford it) @12Hhz.
Now here's why because with the new cards that have came out and most of them being able to handle most games at above 60FPS I am getting tearing in some game. Sure I could go the Vsync route and Triple Buffer but you know as well as I that doesn't always work.
So I am just making sure before I purchase a new monitor that I have this understood right..... If I buy one with a Higher Refresh rate that should (in theory) cut down on tearing as long as it doesn't go above the new refresh rate correct???
Just want to make sure I am thinking in the right context here. Or if anyone has any other Idea's let me know. And no turning down the graphics is not an option...(because just like most of you I like playing with all the eye candy one!)
