My PSU capacitor

Hey TPU-M

Finally after long serves my PSU get older to handle my PC parts, So now I got restart after every 5 sec
I am still able to get it work on low consumption ( without PCI-e GPU, CD drive, case fans...etc )

I have open the PSU case and i found many of caps are seem to be dead or get retire.

I wouldn't try to refurbish an old power supply. It's a very dangerous part to work on and safer to just buy a new one.

They're pretty much on par with other manufacturers of capacitors.
Better brands in my opinion are Nippon and Nichicon, both of which can be found on eBay also.

AFAIK the danger of Ebay is fakes. If you know what you're doing and have a powerful iron I say go for it. If you don't know what you're doing, scrap it.

Yes they are a good company... they ,also, make power supplies. They have been making caps since 1952, or so.
I find them in different brands of power supplies and a lot of the radio equipment I have worked on.

Just make sure they are not knockoffs (fakes), which are out there.
Test them before you use them.

thanks all

I forgot to mention my PSU is FSP epsilon 800w , I think it worth to fix .
The local repair shop will change them for around 4~11$

I have no idea about any other store that sold caps. all what i know E-bay.

Yeah, if you are having a professional store do it, I'd go for it. I'd just be afraid to do it myself.

If you do this, exchange them all... Rubycons are good generally... if those are real, but there were some issues also with them in the past, wrong markings.

Ebay is a nogo source for caps.
