Is the dual rail really that big of an advantage, and if I remember its one 12 rail goes right to your mobo and one is HDDS and what not?

Also If you can one with an CPU 8pin. My mobo has one

Dual rail is cool. But it really does not make much difference...

But with 18 amps amps dual rail, it seperates them so I think only 18 will go the card and the rest to the HDDs and what not.

I am gonna stay with the feeling that 18 x 2 = 36 amps, so therefore you have enough. I'm pretty sure, and LOTS of PSUs have dual rail now (or triple, or quad) and somehow the video cards manage to get enough power. I actually do not know for sure, but thats my way of looking at the problem.

Hmmm well, I have heard of special dual rail PSU's that have "active" rails or something like that. What is does is when it either needs the Amps or is not using them for either side, It will combine or share the amps

That is probably one of the best to recommend at a great price (with a $10USD MIR!!!!) Or you can get the 620W which under strenous CPU and MaximumPC tests, is capable of running a system that draws more power than its continuous rating :)

Great choice Fox. Either this one or the 620W one will work. The 620W will last well into the future IMHO.

What do you want to spend? Mine has been great its a Antec 500w Dual 12v rail, it was only 69.99 at newegg. I am running a x1950pro and have had no problems. I believe they require similar power.

Hiper 580w Type R modular, quality, reliability and specification are absolutely unbeatable for the price point those units are at. (bout $100)

Thats not how dual rail works.
You dont just add up the amps on both rails and thats your total amps.
Multiple rail PSUs can now share amps.
However, there is an overhead whent his happens and some amps are lost.
I dont know the exact number of total amps, but it is a little less than 30 amps total.

As for a great and reliable PSU check out the Corsair HX 520W.
If you want great PSU reviews take a look at johnnyguru.com

the best one was the corsair 620 Fox. But you can get the Corsair 520W (conservative rating, probably around a 600W at peak) for $105 from zipzoomfly and then factor in the $20MIR and its only $85, which is a helluva steal. That gets my vote. Hurry, go order it :)

Peak power is just what it says, at the peak, it will deliver this much wattage. However, thats only at certain points or at one point. The continous power is the more realistic number. Hope that helps.
