I would go for the dual, a quad in a laptop is just pointless overkill and not many games utilize the quad yet, the only one i can think of off the top of my head is supreme commander.
If your going to make a gaming laptop, you may as well just make a gaming desktop, the laptop is going to have to be plugged into the wall all the time just to make the thing turn on anyway. My advice is to scrap the laptop idea and just go for an easily transportable desktop. It may even save you money.

I just emailed the seller about a better cpu than the Q9300 and he added the Core2 Quad Q9450 4x2,66 GHz 12 MB Cache 1333 MHz for 70 Euros more than the Q9300.
Guess that solves my CPU dilemma now.

*stamps feet in tantrum*

:p  LOL

Kidding apart, me and WhiteLotus posted at the same time, I didn't read your post before replying, that's why it kinda appears I'm ignoring your advice. I'm not, though.
I'm reasoning it out that quad is a better technology, more future-proof, and this one with 12MB L2 cache will probably perform better than the E8400 with 6MB cache, and at 45nm probably run cooler as well.
I'm going to have this plugged in, when I'm gaming for sure. And I won't be upgrading in the forseeable future. Since this is going to cost 3189 Euros together with shipping, I wasn't going to skimp on 50 euros here and there to get it cheaper and perhaps kick myself in the face later... I know it's a lot of money and a desktop would be cheaper, but I need something really transportable (even if it weighs 12lbs....) across the very bumpy roads we have here. Every time I transported desktops (not my present rig) I ended up with dislodged cards etc...

And well the cheapest laptop with the same specifications as this one, without the blu ray drive, bought locally is 4200 Euros, so kinda getting it from overseas is a little bargain, if one can say so... :)

fair play then, ever one has to treat themselves once in a while anyway!

One thing i would add though is that the laptop may get very hot, you might want to invest in one of those laptop stations. I think that have fans placed under the port so when you stick your laptop in it helps to keep it cool.

What warrenty does it have panther mine had to have its screen replaced after 5 months i turned it on one day and got a nice black screen staring at me . And as for cooling mine certainly gets hot after a long gaming session so use either a usb fan mat thingy or have it elevated like i said before.

I'll see how it works if I keep it elevated...

If it gets too hot I'll buy a Zalman NC2000 cooler.

About the warranty, I chose:
24 Month Standartgarantie BringIn +0,00EUR

But I can choose any of the following-
36 Month Standartgarantie BringIn +150,00EUR
24 Month Premiumgarantie PickUp & Return +30,00EUR
36 Month Premiumgarantie PickUp & Return +180,00EUR

But the standard guarantee doesn't mean I have to physically go to Germany? Only that I ship the notebook back to them?

I'll check about this...
