One 6 pin PEG is specified at max 75W. So it's 3x75 = 225. I don't know where that 7x25 come from.

Although it's now getting the 'AMD: the future is fusion' slogan around in games now. I think the next generation may mark the end of the ATi brand, since the product recognition with the AMD logo will be there for the uninformed masses, and we all know that amd=ati anyway. It may even boost sales.

Hell, maybe they'll even change the radeon brand name. After all, joe public does probably think geforce sounds cooler.
I think Discrete Graphics Cards will never go away. Instead we may combine them with Fusion cores in a CrossfireX setup :D

If Fermi has more than two 8-pin connectors, it has marched into insane territory.
I don't know where you get the 175W number. :p
The 5870 is a dual 6-pin card which makes it 75W+75W+75W = 225W avaliable.
The assumed pic of the GT300 has 8pin + 6pin, that is 150W+75W+75W = 300W avaliable.

The only card that really deserves a dual 8-pin configuration right now is the HD4870X2 which can draw upto 380+W under extreme load.
