I literally told you in the last post - DigitalFoundry have a 2060S doing 4K at 40fps using XBox SeriesX exact settings.
Here's the exact timestamp of a 2060S doing 40ish fps where an XBSX is locked to 30:

2060S isn't exactly silly expensive, it's certainly less to buy than an XBSX right now:
£450 on ebay uk, $500-600 ebay us.

Laptops under $1000 with an RTX 3060 that are even faster than the 2060S?

It's not rocket science, you're just choosing to be obtuse.
Hold on a second.... are you really comparing a 3060 Mobile with a 2060S.

Bruh... the 3060 mobile is around 13% slower than a 2060S
3060M VS 2060S

You need at least 3070M to get 2060S performance. Right now at newegg the cheapest laptop with that is $1.487.

Btw if I was in USA I could have bought 3 PS5 at MSRP already... I registered to buy directly from Sony and got chosen 3 times already, so I can say its not that hard to find consoles at MSRP, unlike any other type of gear atm.

Ok some compromises are made, same as with console's but your medium now low in two years was also a extreme statement.
I can't see this thing doing playable 4k on AAA games... but I will try this weekend on my TV.

Dlss might help as might the other scaling option, I do use a 4K though, I have been playing horizon zero dawn on it for example.

Pick your game. Anything other than a crippled 65W mobile 3060 is faster than the 2060S in demanding titles like CP2077, Forza4, Forza5, AC Valhalla, RDR2, tied in others, and only slower in older DX11 or DX9 games where you're getting plenty of frames.

3060M also comes in a variety of TDPs but the cheap chunky laptops like the Legion5 and Acer Nitro are usually big enough to support at least 85W variants that boost high enough that it's at least in the same ballpark as a 2060S. The Legion5 I think is 130W though whether you can get that for under $1000 depends on promotions in your local region. The 5800H + 3060 130W were selling over here for £1099 in early January and that includes 20% tax. But I digress. There's no shortage of new laptops or used desktop GPUs for $1000 or under. Last three 2060S sold on ebay US went for $565, $622, 610. You can buy a lot of used Dell or HP to put that into for the remaining ~$400 if you are trying to compare to a console as a complete system.

Either way, you're deflecting the real issue here - if you want a desktop 2060S then they're cheap on ebay, far cheaper than consoles are right now, and the 2060S will perform at or above the level of the consoles, along with features the consoles lack like DLSS and far more graphics options to tweak in game than the console versions.

this is now an interesting situation.. at first nvidia priced their 3xxx series cards well below what people were prepared to pay for them.. now they have jumped on the bandwagon and priced this one at what they think people are prepared to pay for them..

the snag is eth mining rewards have dropped massively... in simple terms this means the price people are prepared for 3xxxx cards will also have dropped massively.. it will be interesting to see how nvidia deals with this situation.. :)

Do you really believe that? About the bubble popping?
I'm sure consumer-grade high-end GPUs won't cost $4000 forever, that's for certain.
In fact, I believe a crash will come after this price boom.

funny how many think they are the benchmark for what prices products should have,
when the "value" just changes with how fat the wallet is.
doesnt mean im fine with it, but im not gonna sour it for the folks willing to shell out that money.

you want one and have the cash, get it. if not, then not.
the same way someone making 1M$/EUR per year wont worry about a 3k "oil change" on their 2-door-700HP sports car that others "whine" about being too much...

My beautiful 1660 Gaming X bought before all this madness...
I see using it for at least another three years.
Maybe then I could buy the same one at the same price hahaha

Looks like I will need to be ‘hanging-on’ and nurturing my old EVGA 980ti for at least another 18-months. But at the same time and when the market ever stabilizes, I might as well get ready to pay $2,000 plus for a halfway decent gaming GPU. And more specifically at that time to play the more advance AAA gaming titles. That is what the world has come too.

Same here, sat on a 980ti, though using a 12700k. I will get a better GPU at some point when the madness recedes
