Old ati card & vhs capture?

Hi there!

I am not quite sure whether I am posting in the right place....anyway I am asking for help.. :eek:

Here is the problem:an old video player (plays the vhs in PAL I-tested in tv and found ok), win 7 pro 32bit , intel centrino 1,8, ati mobility radeon x700 and a usb2000 capture device(v-srteam is the label) recognized as usb 2000 video and the
Software: power director 11 trial and also tested with ofice 2010 onenote and some others...
The video is connected to usb thru scart to rca cable.

After a lot of trials changing the settings of the usb device( tried all different PAL) absolutely NO CAPTURE AT ALL

I didn't quite understand your post.

connect the capture card on the video player's output, then connect the USB to the PC. try different USB ports.

Video player output -> capture card input -> USB PC.

use Windows Movie Maker first for capturing the AV. maybe its just the software.
If it doesn't work. try capturing other devices, like Video Cams, Xbox 360, Other players, etc.
If it still doesn't work. then the Capture Card is busted.

video player scart out to rca in usb capture device to usb pc

I tried different softwares, none of them worked... :confused:

I ll try diferent usb port...
By the way movie make didn't spot the usb capture device... :cry:

I also ran the DxDiag and under the "Direct Show Filters" after a long list I spoted the following:

Video Capture Sources:
USB 2800 Video,0x00200000,1,3,ksproxy.ax,6.01.7601.17514

AND FINALLY TRIED DIFFERENT USB PORT....NO CAPTURE :cry:

+1: I had an ATi TV Wonder that lost support for Vista and newer. Something more modern might be in order to run on Win 7.
