I was wondering what is the safest voltage i can make my e6750 at to be able to oc to about 4.0 or higher? Right now im @ 3.6 stable w/ voltage @ 1.5- I am running liquid cooling for it. NOT AIR

I am on air,and i've had my vcore upto 1.6v.Mine does 4ghz at 1.56v,and stable at 3.6ghz at 1.41.

You shud be ok upto 1.6v on watter but ideally for 24/7 you dont really want to run the vcore that high.

My equation is-highest cpu speed/lowest vcore.Thats how i work out my 24/7 oc,people all have their own way of doing it.

agreed, i dont like putting more than 1.4 volts through my chip daily. have u tried with lower vcore for stability? generally e6750s can hit 3.6 with less vcore than 1.5,more like 1.4

I reckon all 6750's should be able to do 3.6ghz with 1.4-1.42vcore,if not i'd say its a bit of a duff stepping.

Atm I'm running my E6750 at 3.6GHz (451MHz x 8 - 3608MHz).
Motherboard is ASUS P5K and Memory is Corsair XMS2 800MHz 2GB Kit.

What I'm not sure of is why I cant seem to be able to get it post much above 3650MHz.
For example 3700MHz is no go, nothing I tried made it post :(

Any suggestions? Is the Mobo just so crappy? Or the Memory? Or are my settings just wrong somewhere?

I dont think its the memory, i have the same, i think that your voltage may be low and your on stock cooling so it might be getting too hot, ive had mine stable @ 3.8 for a while but bf2142 and bf2 dont handle ocing well. so now im @ 3.6 and everything is awesome

What Volts are you using for CPU/MEM/NB ?

I tried 1.6V for CPU, 2.3V for Memory and 1.55V for Northbridge but failed at posting.

Didnt dare to try higher than that just yet before I ask people more about it.

And I'm gonna try my friends Spire Verticool IV cooler today as I'm going to his place so we will see if there is a problem with overheating then.
But shouldnt it atleast post for a while until it overheats in this case?

Stige - My first guess is your powersupply. LC_Power is a lower end brand and is rated poorly. I would bet if you swaped out your PSU you would be able to get a more stable OC. Also 450watts isn't alot these days...
