hello, i was interestes in overclocking my cpu further than what(3.24) i have it at the moment. I am well aware that i'm at stock cooling and that i'll have to upgrade it. Currently in the bios, my FSB speed is set @ 360 and everything else is set to automatic and i read tha to get the optimal overclok, i'll have to manually adjust the settings such as vcore and all that. Another question is my ram and whether its being pushed too far. Could someone plz point me in the right direction? btw, i have read through http://www.techpowerup.com/articles//overclocking/148/9 but i'm still a bit confused. Also for how long should i test the overclocked cpu for with ORTHOS and waht should i keep my temps under(my C2Q is the G0 stepping so i know that the max is 70 but i wanted to stay under 65)

That is guide that should help you some more with getting things going, I would browse through/post some questions about the Q6600. Your ram should be fairly ok, Dominators are pretty good overclockers, and since Quad's don't yield FSB settings like dual cores can, your ram will be fine.

i would recommend u download OCCT some say its too picky, but none the less if its unstable its let me know about my q6600 wihtin 5min of running it, not gaurenteeing it but if it runs longer than 10 without fault, then its probly stable, mine always fail at 5 min or less or they survive the whole 1hr test. just a thought :).
