i am getting a bit scared for now. pretty much fresh OS.
the problem is - when i put my pc to go to sleep, its ok for about 20minutes, then its suddenly wakes up by itself (without logging in, display still sleeps) and then few sec later again it goes to sleep. for the first time, i thought there is some ghost i my room pressing keyboard for cancelling sleep mode lol

system is perfectly stable, no huge oc applied or stuff.

things i have done for this:
from device manager, `Allow to wake...` option turned off for both, mouse, keyboard, network.
BIOS updated to latest

what could be my problem? didnt see this coming when on AMD graphic card. when i forced it to go to sleep, it did its job well. its pretty much started when bought a maxwell gpu

Turn off C-State gubbins, like C7 and C6 or whatever the hell they're called. All in BIOS, just turn off weird power saving features, one of 'em will probably fix it.

things i have seen - when putted on sleep, it only turns on ONCE (about 20minutes after clicking to go to sleep), then it by itself turns off. then it keeps sleep, till i manually want to turn it on.

i am searching for the stuff on bios at the moment, what RCoon mentioned.

It's moving all the data from the ram to the hard drive and turning itself back off again

what OS? are you using tech like intels RST?

Some motherboards and some OS's have this as a 'feature' when it swaps between sleep and hibernate.

that'd be the one doing it. that basically pre-hibernates the system, turns it on - does its work, turns it off so that your next power on is faster.

turn it off in the BIOS and see how it goes.

there should be no change other than the removal of the feature, which i never truly understood what it was for either.

IntelRST uninstalled and disabled in bios.

edit: system just turned on and off, after 10minutes of sleeping. looks like its not a solution :(
if someone can assure its normal behavior (as someone posted above, its moving all data from ram to disk), then i will just live with that. so far, i find it strange :( (i must say, its cant be any malware, as my system is clean installed).. more and more, i am thinking its just switching from sleep to hibernate. maybe its worth a shot to try to go in hibernate mode and look, if it will turn on.

on win 7 and win 8.1 it doesnt do that for me here, so its something causing that to happen. just not sure what, since RST is disabled.

its not video card or driver related. its definitely something added on as a feature in your motherboard, or a software addon - for your SSD, or as mentioned above for a ram drive or similar.

Its definitely controlled by software on your PC, in other words.

oh, i said wrong. i remember reinstalling OS when i got my maxwell gpu, as i got malware called Steam.exe (bitcoin malware) at the same day, so you are right - its hardware soft related
if its safe for usage nowadays, i dont mind of that, but as no one mentioned anything about the risks, i am worried.

oh, i said wrong. i remember reinstalling OS when i got my maxwell gpu, as i got malware called Steam.exe (bitcoin malware) at the same day, so you are right - its hardware soft related
if its safe for usage nowadays, i dont mind of that, but as no one mentioned anything about the risks, i am worried.

theres no risk with leaving this alone, or removing it. its just something that could annoy you.

is it safe? is it suppose to do that by default? i am a bit worried, as i didnt see that in the past EVER.

I'm only thinking this because ever since i've bought my laptop 3 years ago, putting it into suspend has caused it to suspend to ram and then hibernate in half an hours time, which of course means it turns back on again and then turns off in about a minutes time.

(I have no firm evidence this is what's happening in your case)

ok. some progress.

when i disabled Wake Timer and Allow Hibernate option (this is Samsung SSD optimized Power Plans Preset i am using by default), now when i put to sleep, about 15minutes later its putting it to Login Screen, and doesnt sleep back. Looks like this can be configured through Power Plans folder. Can we say its SSD card related, modified by Samsung Magician?

i will try to make my Power Plan default and look what will happen.

the samsung software could indeed be doing it. change back to the windows power plans and it may well go away.
