Trying to use GPU-Z to extract save the BIOS. All I get are 2 beeps and a message that states, "BIOS reading not supported on this device". Any idea on how to bypass this? Or am I doing something wrong?

FYI: I am using an connecting this gpu externally using
PE4H-EC2C (PCIe Passive adapter ver2.4 with EC2C ExpressCard)
along with
Dell Inspiron E1505
Intel Core 2 duo @ 1.83Ghz
Microsoft Windows XP 2002
1 GB of RAM

I'M Pretty Sure that you cannot Extract the bios using GPUz with this Express card Adapter

Best Person to PM and ask would be

I don't think saving the BIOS is possible using this kind of adapter.

You can try downloading NVFlash from our downloads section and try manually

Or find someone with a desktop computer that will allow you to place your card in it for the purpose of extracting the BIOS and possibly reflashing it.

why are you fiddling with the bios
meddling with the bios isn't gonna get you anything
1. the express-card adapter doesn't have enough bandwith for it to matter
2. old card is old

I was going to say throw that POS in the trash. But at least your messing with worthless hardware to learn. You could be one of these noobs that buys a $500 card and then thinks they are smarter then the engineers that build the thing. I started with breaking old hardware because I was poor. Good luck

So i guess ill give a little background on what exactly I'm doing. I'm a college student studying ECE at Illinois Institute of Technology and I am working on a project. My job is to try and extract this firmware and flash it on another device with the same specs. So luckily I am not being nooby and purchasing anything haha since my school is.

This is my first time working on something like this but I am learning fairly quickly.

I was able to get a hold of a desktop computer to try and extract the BIOS. Here are the specs:
HP Elite Desk 800 G1 TWR
intel core i7 3.60GHz
4 GB RAM

I "believe" that i was able to extract the BIOS. GPU-z was able to recognize the firmware and allowed me to save it. Is that all it takes? is there a way i can confirm this using NVFlash?

Look up the datasheet for the flash chip, attach a microcontroller with your own software to read the contents, save somewhere, attach microcontroller to target flash, run own software to flash. it's not terribly difficult

nvflash can save the bios, too. and write it back to the device to test if it worked.

on newer nvidia cards, there is some kind of extra data contained in the rom files that (as far as i know) is not stored in the flash chip.
