yah im thinkin the same thing, and thats really impressive! Ive seen alot of volt mods that are only getting to 900, 914 sometimes

wow thats awesome, did you actually test with a volt meter or did you just shade it??

You just shade the resistor until you can read the desired resistance and then boot to mesure
the voltage. Then use the vcore that fit your needs

haunted is useing a smidge over 1.5 volts.. i have had mine up way over 2.5 volts with a pencil so 1.5 should be easy.. he he he

the skies the limit.. if u have the cooling..

mind u i didnt shade the resistor.. i did the other mod where u shade the back of the pc board between two pins..

Is that all you had to do? and I dont have a multimeter, is there any "safe" amount of lead to apply that will give me good results. I have plenty of cooling, my GPU has never seen 40c

let me say this....attempting a Volt Mod with no DMM is not a recommended way to go about it. A DMM is a must , how else are you going to know what you have done, if anything?

u need the volt meter.. if u do it the way i did slightly roughen the area between the pins.. sharp metal instrument of some kind.. a few light pencil stokes overvolts very easy.. u volt test as soon as the card boots.. switch it off if u have too much..

its fiddly and hit and miss.. but a few tries should get u there.. a small stiff paint brush gets rid of too much lead..

roughening the surface u want to pencil on is the secret.. so is the type of pencil u use.. i used an old HB 2 one..

dam ghost nice OC on that 6300, is that on air with the arctic freezer 7 you have listed in your specs? What are your temps and Vcore?
I just ordered a MSI P35 board and was hoping for 3.4gh but you got my hopes a little higher now. From what I've read my new board will do 510 FSB so I possibly could hit the same speed

Yeh its the AF7. Temps arent the problem, i have to hit 1.6v in BIOS (~1.53v real) to get 3.57 stable. My e6300 isnt a particularly good clocker. I would run it at 3.5ghz, 1.5v in the BIOS, 1.44v real, but power consumption does rise a bit too much for minimal performance gain and electricity costs too much.

thanks, Im gonna pic up a multimeter today and work on that, whats a safe voltage to shoot for, about 1.5 , 1.6 volts?
what resistance do I want to be at? or do you just detect voltage directly?
