Hello! PC starts to reboots itself whenever I install the video card drivers. Windows loads but after 1-15 minutes the restarts begin. I've tried different versions of the drivers. There's no problem when I remove them with Driver Sweeper. I've reinstalled Windows several times alredy. Currently it's Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I've updated the chipset driver and even updated BIOS, but that didn't helped either. I also removed the card, cleaned all the dust (there was many inside the fan) and put it back, then installed drivers again and the PC ran about 15-20 minutes before the reboots began again. I know it's not the hard drive, because it's brand new (previously thought that's the problem). It's not the RAM too - ran memtest for an hour.
How do you think? Is it a driver problem or the card is failing? Or maybe the PSU is failing? I'll really appreciate some help, because I'm running out of options here.
The configuration of my system:
CPU: DualCore Intel Core i3-540, 3066 MHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD4
RAM: 4 gb.
BIOS - Award Modular
And last question - Will FurMark definitely show me if there's problem with the card and is it safe run this program?

I'd narrow it down to the PSU (more likely) or the graphics card (less likely). Can you list the drivers that you've tried? Also please list your PSU and how old it is. It would be best as well if you could fill out your system specs under your profile.

I say PSU is more likely because the graphics card would go into 3d mode when installing drivers meaning it would be chewing up quite a bit of electricity and your PSU may not be able to handle this anymore.

And welcome to TPU! :D

edit: it might be worth trying a different graphics card out in your system if you have one handy.

Thanks, I like it here! A week ago I started a thread in another tech forum and it still has no answers.
I can't remember the driver versions. The Catalyst Control Suite versions were 13.12, 12.1, some older ones (including the one from the CD) and the latest 14.9. I don't know how to check the model of my PSU. It's a 4 years old, custom-build PC (not by me). I'll try to post all my system specs when I'm back from work.

Update: I managed to find out the manifacturer and model of my PSU: Fortron FSP550-80GLC/EPS12

Also ran FurMark burn-in test for 5 minutes. Everything seems fine -

How did the furmark go? your power supply is not that bad it's possible that it's wear out. Do you have another psu to try.

Sorry for misunderstanding. Stopped the test after 5 minutes, because I was afraid it'd brick my card. Maybe it's really a PSU problem. But as someone else told me, I can't know for sure, because my system is 4 years-old. No, I don't have another PSU, but I"m going to order one soon.

In idle mode it's around 40c, during that test it reached 81c. and stayed in that temperature. No, I haven't got any artifacts or any other major problems with the card. A few months ago I even played the new Assassin's Creed game and can't remember any serious lag.

No, just cleaned the card and put it back on the same slot. I'm not really a hardware person, but I guess it's worth a try.
