I see so many people recording their game play... Besides using a camcorder, are there programs out there to record you desktop or gameplay?

FRAPS is not free, and it is very performance heavy. If you are wanting youtube quality video, fraps is not your friend. There are plenty of free programs that can do that.

I'd recommend xfire as it does a decent job and its free last time i checked you have to buy fraps to remove a time limit.

I bought Fraps back in 2005. With lifetime free updates, I don't think I could have spent a better $35 at the time.
