I have three of LF II 240's in the affected time span. I pulled the first one yesterday and replaced it with a LF II 280 that's outside the problematic gasket dates. I also used that as an opportunity to install a Thermalright LGA 1700 anti-bending bracket on the Z690/12600K rig I pulled the 240 from. Now I have to take a picture of the bottom of the pump to show the production code plus provide proof of purchase to get the free repair kit. I also have 240's on a X99 and X79 that are in the affected window. I really don't have the energy to pull the pumps just to get pictures of the production dates but I don't have a choice. Amazon sent me a notice (I already knew anyway) a few days ago because I bought those three from them.

I now buy my Arctic things off their excellent Ebay site that has B stock for 1/2 price with the regular full warranty. They also sell A stock on there and it comes directly from Arctic unlike Amazon stock that may be months old. The LF II 420 I bought as B stock recently was exactly like new, no idea why it was B stock plus it wasn't part of the problem batch.

You must not have ever had to ship or transport a PC with a large air cooler. It takes a shockingly small amount of force to cause significant damage to the motherboard socket and/or CPU. All of the thermal mass in an AIO is in the radiator and water and thus is securely bolted to the chassis. Much safer for shipping and transport.
I have never heard any broken mobo or cpu socket because of large air cooler. I had noctua nhd-14 in system over 5 years, took it LAN parties carried with car on bumpy roads.
You basically have to throw it out of the roof to damage mobo/socket.

Heavy GPU's are different story.

Congratulations, you are not a shipping company that treats packages like toys.

Ordered the repair kit on the day of this announcement, just received it today. Not too bad.

Didn't see very much residue in the old coldplate, however my sample is only from late March this year. The repair was extremely easy, I'm happy to have extra coolant and a nice copper piece to fiddle with. :p

Thanks Arctic for owning up to mistakes properly. It's good business sure, but they easily could have chosen not to like many other companies...

no way to know whether or not it makes any difference with VRM temperatures.

tried paying attention to reviews that actually did test?
early revisions allowed you to unplug the vram fan, so this was actually tested.
