The only thing that I turned down was AA, everything else was maxed. Surround ran fine maxed out otherwise at 5760x1080. I like how you make a bunch of assumptions about how I run my card just as you make a bunch of assumptions about the 390 being crap and the 970 haven't no issues at all.
I never said the 390 was crap, did you miss where I said both perform similarly?
There is nothing speculative about 160 TMUs. Simple fact is that you seem to think the 390 is crap when it's a lot better than you think. I never said that many games used >4GB of ram but when they do and they used it, I'm sure you'll notice the difference. That isn't speculation either, there are owners of 970s who have had that issues even if you haven't.

No, you really don't notice the difference. You argument is that games might use more than 4GB in the future, that is speculation.
Kind of makes you wonder how the higher end AMD cards get away with 4GB and the 390 will suddenly be better because it has 8GB? Remember how nVidia released FX5200s with 512MB, even though the card would never be able to use that much RAM because the GPU was too weak? The more memory was only there for marketing. And guess what, the 8GB on the 390 is pure marketing too.
And, sure, there are people with 970s who have experienced "issues" but once the memory issue came out, any type of performance issues was blamed on it. The issues were blown way out of proportion. There were threads even here blaming the 970 memory for stuttering that had nothing to do with it. The stuttering was actually extremely minor, and just about as rare as the games that use more then 4GB of RAM...
You mean how the review is using an overclocked card as an example? Should we start showing how the 980 Ti overclocked destroys Titan X at stock as well? Not exactly sure what point you're trying to make but, comparing overclocked cards to stock cards is just as dumb.
With respect to Farcry 4, I did see that kind of usage after loading into the game at particular scenes, not all the time, but I find your statement to be sketchy at best.
You do realize there are stock cards in that list too, right? But really, what does the fact that the 980Ti is overclocked have to do with anything? The fact is the 980Ti and Titan X both have 12GB of RAM, and the
stock 970s are still performing better than both cards. How is that happening if the 4GB available to the 970s is holding it back as much as you say? The fact that the 980Ti in the review is overclocked and still loosing just proves my point, that the 970s perform just fine in FarCry4 at 4K maxed out, even more.
