Hi guys,

I just recently upgraded to the system on the left

<<<<<

The problem is that my ram is only running at 667 and I cant figure out how to get it to run at its normal 800.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have the latest bios for my mobo both the bios and windows registers that I have 4GB ram but they both also say its only running at 667 :(

The mobo supports upto 1066 and upto 8GB so im a bit stuck :S

PLEASE HELP :respect:

You need to set a memory divider to change the ratio between the FSB and the RAM. CPUz will tell you what the ratio is at the moment, then adjust accordingly.

Go to MIT in bios and it looks from the manual you need to change the "system memory multiplier(SPD)" to allow for different speeds. I believe when you change this you then should see the actual ram speed right below it change to a different MHz.

Look to page 53 in the motherboard manual to see what I am referring to!

Edit: if CPU-z says 400MHz that is only a sindgle reading...the DDR value is double what CPU-z reads, so if in fact it says 400MHz, you are at DDR2 800 speed!

Ok yeah I have seen that in the bios and gone thru the manual.

The bios lists it as 667 800 when I set the SPD to 2.00 ... when set to auto it lists 667 1000 ???

Could it have anything to do with my CPU overclock ? 400x8 @3.2GHz .... would it do anything if i put it to 800x4 @3.2GHz ??? or would it implode lol

Look in CPU-z, as you stated, it looks to be right. I ran my E6400 at 1:1 with the ram, and at 3.2GHz or a 400FSB the ram is ready to rock at 400MHz or DDR800 (DDR=double/dual data rate). CPU-z shows half of the DDR value!

ahhhh ok that makes sense.

BUT

why does 3DMark Vantage only list my ram as being 667 ?

Could be a misread. I go with CPU-z for fact...dont wory so much how it gets read in ORB. I have had CPU and GPU misreads from time to time, so the ram isnt too strange in my eyes!

I think the two speeds are what you have now and what you will get with the change. If you set the ratio to 2.0, you should get 800.
