I have an ati 9800 pro. I just bought ram sinks and was wondering if I have to put them on both sides of the memory? The pictures just show one side. Would I get better cooling using them on both sides?

I installed the ram sinks. I also installed an artic silencer . One of the ram sink buy the fans is to big. So I left it off. Is this normal, and should I cut the ram sink to make it fit.
They are OCZ BGA ram sinks.
