Here are some screens taken from the XBOX360 'full version' of the game (all screens taken at the exact same loading point):
Settings: XBOX360 @ standard (full screen) / 32" Sony CRT @ 4:3 (full screen)
Settings: XBOX360 @ widescreen / 32" Sony CRT @ 16:9 (widescreen)
You can clearly see that the widescreen setting offers nothing extra to the 'field of vision' horizontally. Yet the fullscreen setting displays more at the top and bottom of the screen.
So basically, its better to play the game in fullscreen (even on a widescreen TV)
