An alternative to those expensive boutique DDR3 rams for Ivy.

I found 'em @ Ebay and some obscure web shops that sell HP/Dell compatible rams for around $20/4Gb stick.

Heres 2 sticks binned from a bunch of generic HCH9 double sided.

Doesn't more than 1.65v ruin the life and flexibility of your IMC? I thought I remember Intel making a huge deal about 1.65 being the absolute max that should be used for memory voltage.

That is impressive memory there, very nice. I'd be afraid to pump that much voltage through, but it's still pretty awesome. Samsung RAM FTW

Does Ivy Bridge have some "keep vtt within 0,5v of vDRAM" rule, like my x58 setup has?

I've runned my 970 with various ram at voltages up to 1,7v while folding and the imc still clocks the same way it did at day 1. In fact, i'm pretty sure my current Samsung (yes those small black babies) are held back by the imc (cannot go beyond 2100, while MANY others on SB/IB get 2400 easily).

I'm not sure with X58, but I try to keep VTT as low as possible.

I just run 1.7V+ for benching. 24/7 always on default V.

B/way heres another set of 4X4 that seems to do better voltage wise.

No XMP, settting @ samsung loose 2X4 in M5G bios

4X4gb @ 2600 1.65V
