Running my DDR2 at 1000MHZ 5-5-5-15, which, if I'm not mistaken, is pretty competitive with low-end DDR3 :p

So Samsung is tired of competing and wants Intel to move to an unnecessary new standard so they can have less competition. Sorry, if you can't compete, get out of the race.

Other than lower voltage and a bit higher bandwidth DDR4 will bringing to the table a new controller. The days of dual, triple and quadchannel will be over. Each channel on the memory controller will connect directly to a module.

Sounds like DDR3 prices may actually get a bit cheaper before they get more expensive. I've been thinking about building another server with 40GB+ of RAM ;)

Not in terms of power usage.

Word, I'm not paying more than $70 for a 2TB drive, especially when I know the prices are artificially inflated. Want more of my money? How about none?
