I just installed win7 home premium x64 on my brother's computer. He has a 64GB SSD, 1TB HDD, and a 500GB HDD.
Before the install, I switched the BIOS sata option from IDE to AHCI, since I heard that was a prerequisite for TRIM on the SSD. After install, the safely remove hardware tray icon shows all 3 disks.
I googled and found registry changes for nvidia and via chipset users, except my brother's mobo is an ECS A770M-A, which has the ati SB600 southbridge.
This wasn't a problem when the Sata controller was on IDE with xp installed.
"Hiding" the icon isn't really a solution for him, since it'll be the only one hidden, and the arrow that shows hidden icons takes up just as much room.
Anyone have a similar problem?
