Yeah, not really common knowledge and not something I've experienced on either Platinum I have. Thanks for the explanation, though.
Same experience. If my platinum has coil whine, it's considerably quieter than the rest of my machine or any other coil whine I've heard in the past. I've heard people saying that they've had coil whine with Seasonic units but I've yet to experience that with the two gold units I bought for other people and the platinum I have myself.

Really looking forward to see how good these are.
But please no coil whine this time around Seasonic.

Seasonic is famous for coil whine, same as models of other companies made by Seasonic.
I had one Seasonic X-750 5 years and didn't had coil whine, than I sold, guy test him first on that and still is OK.
But I think Super Flower models, Antec Delta and CORSAIR AX1500i are models with rear of coil whine.
Number of coil whine, buzzing noise, etc increase last 4-5 years when more efficient PSU start to show up.
I don't need soon PSU, few years. My 1200 P2 is one year old and I hope he will work long time.

Does this mean that if the power in my house sometimes flicker for a short moment, this PSU would have a better chance of not shutting off my computer?

Yes. Though a UPS would probably be something I'd look into in your case.

My 450W Cooler Master that is 10 years old can do the same thing (i've actually experienced it). Then again, when I bought it, it had a 100e price tag.
I don't think the be quiet! one that I have now has managed the same thing.
