server board for new processor

got a quick question If I go and buy a quad core processor do I need a mobo with two cpu spots.. and if so when I run a search do I look for server mobo??? :confused:

Kentsfield runs on socket 771, just like Conroe. If you're talking about dual dual core there are Dempsey, Woodcrest, some Opterons and that crappy FX thing. Why do you want 4 cores? What is the purpose?
