Turns out previous was slightly unstable (errored at 110 min VT3), this one is good now (30K Karhu, 4 hours VT3,etc.) upon dropping VDDP to 1.080v
and upping VDDQ to 1.33v

Hello
My values are like this with active GDM (Gear Down) the question is, is a newer AGESA worth more when writing?

I can't turn off GDM because windows crashes.

Was that stable? are these also SK hynix chips? and what tension did you have there? is this permanent or just a benchmark?

You seem to be running XMP with just a -1 drop in RCDRD/WR from 22 to 21 just because it can boot in windows does not mean its stable. You have
to run some memory stability test and more importantly some 5800X3D owners have reported loss of performance at higher +/-1900 FCLK.

I don't have any SK Hynix chips so cant help with timings but its usually a waste of time to run above 1900 FCLK in most cases.

This is Micron B-die was stable in Linpack extreme and Y-cruncher but I actually lost performance.
4200 CL15 TM5 Pass 37 37 crop 2024bcd.jpg

Samsung B-Die also stable in TM5 but lost performance in everything but AIDA64.
cachemem 497ns abcd.jpg
ZenTimings_Screenshot 497ns 2abcd.jpg

With my Motherboard the highest I could go without losing performance and no WHEA 19s was 3933 CL15.

Hi enthusiast, straight IF2000 on X3D you better be joking, they are rare at 4000mhz running stable & Wheas free, only using 103.5 bclk GearON can touch it
wut.gif

5800X3D_4,709_4000 CL14_BCLK_103,50.png

Screenshot(37)_copy_1195x1440.png

Check your Event Viewer, guess you've being got already thousands of Whea19 error by now, I encourage you to chill down to 3866 stable wheas free, do not to corrupt OS or find instability random reboots in short time

X3D_4.550_3866 CL14_GearOFF_CO-22.png

GearON always hide issues, sometimes too much, cannot see your false positive stability inline, pure 1T GearOFF is your way, as I did, and settled my better daily & gaming Profile at 3866 +102.25 bclk PBO Limits & LCLK =Disabled, negative CPU Offset Voltage & CurveOpt perCores, but be aware, you need to work harder for that, a lot of time consumer testing TM5 & y-cruncher Profile scenarios, just but not only in gaming session, you'll find more info in here as @The King already suggested, may help, good luck!
Daily & gaming Profile 3866 +102.25 bclk PBO Limits & LCLK =Disabled, negative CPU Offset Voltage & CurveOpt perCores, GearOFF 4x8 Vipers 1.56v with active Airflow cooler on top
EDIT: let you here some info screen pick from my actual setup Profile

sooo, got bored of my 5950X / X470 /DDR4 working too good and decided to change things up, so bought 7800x3d etc.
this is on default expo, only changed def. vcore soc to 1.15 from 1.25. thinking would it be possible to get around 60ns without going over 1,35V on VDD's etc.?

I have a 5600X that is stable at 2K 1:1, and can bench at 2100 1:1.

Like my 5600X.. you got a good sample, not all of them can do that.

:sleep::sleep:

I need a new toy.
Honestly first gen AM5 isn't all that.

I'd wait for Arrow Lake, looks technologically very interesting with some big leaps in process/transistor tech.

Zen 5 looks more of the same +15% etc.

Zen 6 looks more of a redesign with an active interposer etc.

5800X3D is still great.

7800X3D is an upgrade in performance, but a sidegrade platform wise I'd say.

Having owned the Strix X570I and X670E-I and the 3700X, 5950X, 5800X3D and the 7800X3D/7950X3D, the AM5 platform is kinda eh.

The idle power is worse due to upclocked IF/memory controller, PCIe5 for either GPU or SSD is meaningless, better IO is nice (USB4), but the platform hasn't exactly been rock solid from launch like AM4 is right now (reached good stability).

Edit: the two chipset design sucks too. I'd rather the space was used for more fan headers or something useful, like a third M.2 slot or a post code LED screen. The stock fans are crap and I've literally just removed them, no issues with chipset temps.

Yessir!

No plans of doing Zen 4, and probably not Zen 5 either.

Yessir!

No plans of doing Zen 4, and probably not Zen 5 either.
Nice, same here.

https://singularitycomputers.com/product/phantom-2-itx-case/ prob going to build in this with a 480 mm rad on the back, flex tubing with UV reactive coolant and EK's gold plated fittings (which for some reason aren't super expensive), 8200+ DDR5, Optimus signature on CPU/GPU with Arrow Lake/RTX 50xx.

This old sandwich case is great but time for something new and I like the powerboard/distro plate/unlimited rad support + full size ATX PSU of the Singularity case.

This is the old version 1 of the case. Version 2 has integrated powerboard/distro plate (no need for reservoir). Very clean.

Also i'm tired of Zen RAM tuning, Intel is so much more fun.

Imagine sub 50 ns AIDA with this case.

7800X3D is like 55 ns peak if you get a golden sample.

Mine is more like 58 ns because I've tuned BCLK for CPU frequency, not RAM latency.

I wonder what the RAM temps are like with no through case airflow, but in an open design like that. I might still hide a couple 40 mm fans or even a big boy 120 mm somewhere for motherboard airflow.

It's possible to mod the PSU fan to put a Noctua in or whatever, could do that instead, and set it up to pull air through the PSU from sides, and exhaust over mobo/RAM, so it is cleaner and can push some volts through DDR5 for that sweet sweet tRFC latency.

I guess the alternative would be a heatsink backplate for the GPU, and a slim 120x15 mm fan attached directly to that that actively cooled backplate and provided RAM/Mobo airflow for peak tuning.

Wouldn't even see it that way since vertical orientation, and the GPU WB on front.

This is just the 'Memory Try It' in BIOS, have not even started on tuning memory yet...
Pretty bad settings as you would expect. Here is a guide you can follow to gain 15% in terms of ram performance

Doing a quick before test before updating BIOS.

I'm on 2214 1.1.0.1

Going to move to 2611 1.1.7.0 patch A. Will plug in same settings in BIOS.

Not being able to roll back sucks. This better not break my tune.

Slightly better with new BIOS but could just be run to run variance.

Safe mode no network.

Full Windows boot (0.4 ns latency difference with all drivers/network loaded etc, pretty clean OS install I think :p). Funny how the BCLK isn't detected so it says I have 6000 MT ram when it's actually 6150 because BCLK is 102.5 lol.

Clock residency seems slightly better for CPU boost, anecdotal though I didn't bench it.

OCCT seems stable. OK, successful update.

What are your daily settings without setting the memory voltage so high? that are stable?
1.57 isn't high for B die.

You can run safely up to 1.7 V daily if it's kept cool.

Adjusted the primaries, bumped up the clock, but need a little more insight into secondary and tertiary timings.
