Sound Issues? Weird Problem o.O

Ok so i have just unearthed ANOTHER problem with my computer! :D

My latest problem is sound. Say i have iTunes running, rocking out to some pantera, and i then either put a disc in the disc drive or plug my iPod or phone into my pc, my sound stops. Its not like my music gets paused or can be resumed, it just stops. Each time i have to go back into my audio settings, re - enable my bass settings and then reload iTunes.

What the hell is going on? :wtf:
 
anyone? Im buying a new disc drive tonight or tomorrow, going sata rather than IDE, see if that solves anything.
 
i don't think getting a dvd drive will, since it's doing it with the ipod and connecting your phone to the pc (which are both usb). do you have the lastest sound drivers

think its just a driver issue? We all know how dodgy Creatives cards are with vista . . . And i need a new drive anywho, mines about had it.
