I post it as it may save someones ass. After the disaster I found some posts in overclocker forums about dead SSD after OC'ing. (permanent or not deaths)

In my case, I was fine tuning offset voltage, and during some hours I did benches and had also frecuent locks and resets.

When I thought I was settled, I left my PC running and went to dinner. When i came back, the screen said "no boot disk".
After some tries, my system drive, Samsung 840 EVO 1TB resulted dead.
Some tricks to revive it ware fruitless. It is under warrenty so no problem...

Fortunately Win 8.1. "File history" backup system works well and I could recover my personal files.

Someone's theory on this that all too frecuent (hot) restarts messes with the SSD's mind... and it locks.

That's one of reasons why i still prefer good old HDD's. No matter how much you abuse them with restarts and reboots, they work. I only have SSD for caching, where it doesn't matter if it dies or not, because it's just cache.

I've had a few old HDDs dying from random restarts. But corrupted data was a lot more common.
